Differences may arise due to wear, deformation, or damage to the original part, its tolerances, or the inability to accurately measure certain surfaces, radii, angles, complex shapes, or internal features—including limitations inherent in 3D scanning technology.

Flexible or elastic parts (rubber, silicone, gaskets, soft components) do not have a single rest state—their geometry varies depending on their positioning, support, and weight at the time of measurement or scanning. The CAD model will reflect the part’s geometry as it was measured, which may differ from its behavior under actual installation or usage conditions.

Customer Responsibility Regarding Tolerances

The client is responsible for providing, prior to the start of the design process, the critical dimensions, tolerances, fits, and functional requirements that must be met. In the absence of this information, the model is created based on measured or provided dimensions, as well as technical interpretations and best practices in the field of engineering.

Approval of the CAD Model

Before the final part is manufactured, the customer is responsible for reviewing and approving the CAD model, dimensions, and specifications relevant to their application. Approval confirms acceptance of the geometry and dimensions designed at that time. The compatibility and functionality of the final part cannot be guaranteed solely by the creation of the CAD model.

Dimensional accuracy in manufacturing (FDM / SLA / SLS / CFF)

The parts are manufactured using optimized settings; however, despite this, deformation may occur during the manufacturing process.

Typical dimensional accuracy varies depending on the technology: FDM (filament) — 0.3–0.5 mm; SLA (resin) — 0.1–0.3 mm; SLS — approximately 0.2 mm; CFF (continuous fiber/composite) — 0.1–0.2 mm for small parts. The deviation increases proportionally with the size of the part (as a percentage, not just as a fixed value). There is no single international standard for 3D printing tolerances, and for thin parts, linear features, or complex geometries, deviations may be greater due to material shrinkage and process-specific internal stresses.

Liability for Dimensional Accuracy

The bidder assumes no responsibility for the dimensional accuracy of the final part in the first iteration. Material shrinkage varies from part to part, even under identical process conditions, and unforeseen circumstances may sometimes arise that affect the final result. Achieving the desired tolerances on the first iteration is not guaranteed; the only way to achieve the required precision is through successive iterations of prototyping and adjustment. These additional iterations may incur additional charges.

Validation through prototyping

For applications where dimensional or functional compatibility is critical, it is recommended to validate the model using a tested prototype before final production.

Following testing, model adjustments or calibrations may be necessary to compensate for shrinkage, deformation, or other variations specific to the material and manufacturing process. These operations may require one or more iterations of design, prototyping, and testing, each of which is billed separately.

Waiting time for feedback

The estimated design time does not include periods during which a response from the client is awaited—such as approvals, clarifications, or feedback on a model or prototype—without which the project cannot proceed. These waiting periods are added separately to the estimated completion time.

Additional Work and Changes

The design quote covers only the measurement and design based on the materials provided or the measured part and does not include the costs of accounting for material shrinkage or subsequent modifications to the part. Subsequent modifications, changes to the initial requirements, the provision of new dimensions, redesigning the model following testing, adaptation for a different manufacturing process, as well as any necessary dimensional compensations or adjustments required after testing a prototype, constitute additional work and will be quoted separately if not included in the initial quote.

Change Request (Change to the Design Specifications)

Any additional design iteration or revision that becomes necessary due to a change in the design scope by the client—such as a change in requirements, the part’s intended use, or the specifications originally established—is considered a Change Request and is billed separately, at a rate of 150 lei per hour.

Acceptance of the Terms and Conditions

By accepting the offer and commencing the project, the client confirms that they have read and understood these terms and conditions.

Last updated: August 19, 2026.

Aceste condiții se aplică serviciilor de proiectare CAD (modelare 3D) oferite de CAPIB (marcă operată de DRAGAN PREMIUM IMOBILIARE S.R.L., CUI 54035113, Nr.
